1st January 2016 was unique in history of Delhi. Delhi government has started an experiment to correct the increasing level of Air Pollution. It is known as even odd system. According to this even numbered cars can run on even dates and odd numbered cars can run on odd numbered dates.
Idea behind this is to reduce the number of cars on the roads of Delhi. It is assumed it can reduce half numbers of total running cars on Delhi Roads. Heavy fine of Rs 2000/- will be charge if anyone violate the rule.
This system seems effective in reducing the number of cars on Delhi roads. Delhi roads which are known for heavy traffic looks empty. It is something which was never assumed before. Most of the Delhi peoples are following it. So Kejariwal government can pat his back for this

Now the real question arises. Does all this exercise is done to just reduce the number of cars on Delhi roads?? Real objective is still out of reach. Pollution level is still on dangerous level and it doesn't seem that odd/even is helpful in this exercise. In fact cars have less percentage in producing pollution. Different factors like chimney fumes, other vehicles emission , burning of garbage and agricultural waste. Cars have only 10% role in pollution.
So odd/even becomes successful It is really a big question?
